The Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2021 just ended, with leading designers from across the continent showcasing their Spring/Summer 2022 collections on the runway. This year, Heineken Lagos Fashion Week celebrated A Decade in Fashion and all that is African fashion, including the vibrancy of various cultures, the abundance of natural resources, and the sense of kinship that has emerged, as well as skills passed down from generation to generation in communities dotted across the continent. The theme of this year was “The Future Starts Now.”

This year’s runway had so many incredible designs that it was almost impossible to choose our favourites. So we decided to focus on two categories instead: workwear and African prints. This focus is on fashion brands that feature designs that can be worn to work and African prints that can be worn to; brunch, informal events, cocktails, and dinner parties.

Below are the fashion brands from the Heineken Fashion Week that we picked out for you:

Banke Kuku

Rick Dusi

Eliekuame Official

Jzo

Tsemaye Binitie

Ntando XV

Bridget Awosika

Ugo Monye

Eki Silk

We’re super proud of the fashion industry in Africa. The future is here, so don’t be left out; always remember to buy Nigerian and buy African!
