23-year old Canbit Music recording artiste, Rasheed Adeniyi Osanyinpeju is a 300 level student of the National Open University of Nigeria. An Ogun state indigene, he is the fourth child from a polygamous family which has seven children. Growing up for Rasheed wasn’t entirely rosy for him due to his family status but education was placed above luxuries and it is an entirely new world for him.
His sojourn into music started at an early age and with support from members of his family, he carried on. In 2011, he got signed by Olusegun Ake of Canbit Music who happens to be much more of a big brother than a boss to him and together they have embarked on building a new scene in the Nigerian music industry.
Not deterred by the acceptance of his kind of music- alternate music, Rasheed’s source of inspiration springs up from reading books, watching movies and observing his environment. This he combines with his influences which includes John Legend, Lauryn Hill, Nneka, Sound Sultan and 2Face.
