TUSH Recommends: 7 Exciting New Music Releases You Missed Out On

Lately, we’ve realized most of us are all currently in a state of overload. Overload of ideas, overload of advice and information and also overload of new music. That’s not the problem.

The problem is in what ideas to act on, what information to read and what new music to listen to.

Introducing Tush Recommends, a list of the feel-good, best out of the overload of new music released within the week. Not too much, just seven tracks we found appealing, some you might have missed out on, but with this list, we hope to introduce you to crispy fresh sounds.

1. Terri x Bella Shmurda x Mohbad — Money

Following the euphoria from his gripping delivery on Wizkid’s “Roma”, Terri dropped the love-tinged “Come Around” in February.

But now, he’s teamed up with fellow bubbling artists, Mohbad and Bella Shmurda for another exciting release they’ve termed “Money”.

Here they dish out desires about making more money and using it to fulfill some of their longtime desires.

2. Skales x Davido – This Your Body

In the past months, Skales has been on a sound exploration. He’s often tinkered with his sound, tweaking it to align more with his lyrical prowess thereby making it more enjoyable.

Inumidun” rang around in parties and on TVs in December and on his last release, “Kayefi”, he shifted more to the softer parts of the reigning Amapiano sound to deliver a groovy tune.

For his new release, “This Your Body” with Davido, the hard, jazzy percussion sides of Amapiano are present as he and Davido emphasize how attractive the bodies of their love interest are. Davido with his usual exuberance doesn’t miss as he delivers a rhythmic verse.

3. Dai Verse – Sweet Daddy

With the music space growing receptive to his unique sound, fast rising artist Dai Verse has put out another dazzling single.

There’s an upbeat-ness to this in contrast to his last single, Cocaine, and is also adorned by occasional bursts of horns and underlying Amapiano drum patterns.

“Sweet Daddy” is all about the all round characteristics of a man who’s ready to satisfy his love interest in every facet of the relationship.

4. Gabzy – Pull Up

Gabzy’s palette of music has shifted to softer, more melodic offerings where he weaves in love tales.

It connects with the listener as he calmly narrates, aided by the soothing effect of the beat. This was the direction for his stunning EP, Summers.

On “Pull Up”, he returns to that template and his vocals hits a spot with the listener where one would be forced to play it again.

5. Cece – Matter feat. Bella Shmurda x AnnySingle x MALKALM

Weeks ago, Cece released her debut album, a project she’s worked on for over two years with artists called up from different continents.

From the collection of 13 songs, one of the catchy tracks is Matter which features the trio of Bella Shmurda, AnnySingle & MALKALM.

There’s synergy here with each artist contributing excellently well to the plot of the song with Bella’s calmly composed take, the star attraction of the song.

6. Ogranya – Sacred Forest

What can we say about Ogranya’s talent? After dropping one of the best projects last year, he’s embarked on a mission to drop a song each week throughout 2021.

This week, he’s entreated us to the lush, melodious feels of Sacred Forest. His vocals feel light and smooth blending well with the beat  as he sings about giving and taking in relationships.

Oh man, this is an enthralling release.

7. Korede Bello – Fine Fine

The charming appeal of Korede Bello has been one reason why his sound stands out. And often he sprinkles that charm—in the form of his vocals—on several songs.
His new single, “Fine Fine” has a huge chunk of that charm as Korede Bello adulates and praises his woman.
