Music comes with different moods. There are times we just want to listen to a particular genre. Other times, we listen to just that one song that flows with our emotion and whatever we are going through. Music and entertainment outlets- blogs, radio stations, television have brought in shows and charts to help viewers juice up their playlists on their devices.

As ardent lovers of music in Nigeria, I believe this playlist is worth your time. I’m not going to base it on sentiment. It is not in any numerical order. This is not a competition. Right now, these joints are winning on almost all the charts in the country.

I bring you the movers and shakers of moods. This is my opinion – strictly mine!

9ice – Living things

9ice came through with talks of being on top and prayed for his finances. No surprises considering the fact we heard he was leaving music for politics. This high-tempo tune laced with drums and fusion of guitar can make you stand up on your feet.

YCEE ft. Maleek Berry – Juice

This Maleek Berry – assisted joint was one of the build-up to the “The First Wave” EP. The Omo Alhaji crooner talks about a particular lady who has his attention. The Tinny Entertainment frontliner did justice on the bass production as Maleek Berry helped him on this one. It was all about the juice and the sauce.

Davido – If

David dropped this without warning. He promised to share everything with the woman he professes his love to, including his thirty billion in his bank account. That woman has got to be stunner. He really took by surprise on the Tekno-produced tune with pure drums and piano sampling.

Wizkid ft. Drake – Come Closer

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun continued his bromance with Aubrey Graham on the Afro-pop tune. Is Ayodeji asking for intimacy? Is Drake finally succumbing to external talks on his lifestyle? Too mixed up in drama to go outside, too mixed up in drama to free my mind. He expressed as he jumped on his verse.

Tekno – Yawa

Anita is in dilemma with Tekno because he has not been playing the part of a good lover. Tekno asks for forgiveness on this one for his unjust actions. Anita must not leave Slim Daddy or else “yawa go dey”.

Olamide – Love No Go Die

Olamide has found solace in his lady and promised undying love for this unknown woman. Young Jon the wicked producer still continues with the same consistency that saw him bag nominations in top Nigerian Awards two years ago.

Burna Boy – Hallelujah

Burna will always make good music even though there were times he let us down. The Ahoada man from Rivers state thanks God for his blessings,  protections and loved ones around him even when  he thinks  doesn’t deserve them in any bit. Hallelujah will make you give all gratitude to the most high.

Tekno – BE

Slim Daddy dropped this as a follow-up to Yawa. Sarz made this a phenomenon. He samples lyrics from Nigerian musical icons- D’banj, Wizkid, 2Baba, Danfo Drivers, as he wants to ‘BE’ everything to his girl. You must have this one in your playlist.

DJ Xclusive ft. Runtown – Sexy Girls

The Empire mates Entertainment in-house Disc Jockey got the production of Spellz and artistry of Runtown to make this one a club banger and a chart-topper.  Runtown delivered as the end product was a hit.

Krizbeatz ft. Davido and Tekno – Erima

Davido and Tekno jumped on the drummer boy’s beat and killed it flirting with and at the same time lusting after the curvaceous Erima from FESTAC town. It is indubitable that Krisbeatz is trying to form a niche with Tekno or vice-versa.
