Christmas. It’s somewhat in the air amidst omicron, covid, and the other crazy things that try to kill the Christmas spirit. Fortunately for everyone, both Nollywood and Hollywood lovers, the highly anticipated Dec 16th is here and if you don’t know what’s happening today are you really a movie lover? Millions of marvel fans worldwide have waited for this day for months, while thousands of Kunle Afolayan-Nollywood Netflix-Christmas-loving fans have waited for today for a couple of weeks. For those who are still clueless, today is the release of Spiderman: No Way Home and A Naija Christmas.

Why is everyone excited for Spiderman you may ask? First off, if you aren’t you need to check yourself. Spiderman: No Way Home is the third film in Tom Holland’s Spiderman universe and although there have been many debates on his performance and embodiment of Peter Parker, many are ecstatic to watch him perform alongside their personal favorites. It has been rumoured for months that the film will feature the previous Peter Parkers, Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The film will also give Tom and Zendaya stans more content to grovel over for the next year or two. In addition to watching all three versions of Peter Parker, many fans are excited by the return of past villains, that is Sandman, Doc Oc, Green Goblin and Electro.

On the other hand, A Naija Christmas follows the story of three brothers who are expected to bring spouses home for Christmas, the only major issue is they have no spouses. The film follows these brothers trying their best to fulfill their mother’s wishes. From the trailer, the film looks like a family movie that ensures hearty laughs and warmed hearts, just in time to set the mood for Christmas.

So whether you can make it to the cinema today or not, you have something new to watch. I personally advise you start with A Naija Christmas on Netflix, to put you in the cheerful, loving Christmas spirit.
