Millennials are hardworking, driven, and goal-getters. We love to put our best foot forward and take on challenges. So it’s only normal that when we do take out time to unwind, we value having an experience over regular hangouts.

Millennial lifestyle influencer Tijesunimi Olupekan who is no stranger to fine dining (as perks of his role as an influencer), shares with us his top 5 picks of the coolest places to chill in Lagos. Tijesu is well acquainted with lots of restaurants, lounges/bars, and resorts. And so we reached out to him to share with our millennial audience trendy places they can go to have a lovely experience, chill out and unwind.

It’s the start of a new workweek, although I know most (including me) wishes it wasn’t and the weekend was longer. You’re probably already looking forward to the coming weekend and hoping you’d be able to indulge in some fine dining and get to explore cool hangouts with your friends, who you’ve likely been cancelling on because of work, and because you don’t know what cool places you can go to take a load off. Or you’re looking to have a lovely date night with your significant other. Keep reading to find out places where you can do all that.

In no particular order, here are his top 5 picks:

This is an elite restaurant and bar situated on Victoria Island. It’s the perfect spot for a date night. It’s cosy and has a lovely ambience. There’s an indoor area, as well as an outdoor one that features a bar and pool.

On my visit there, I had the Roasted Half Chicken, Mash Gravy, Green Beans, and Fried Plantain as a side dish with a good ol’ classic wine. It was exquisite.

The mood was right. The vibe was perfect. It’s a place you should take your significant other to have a great conversation over fine dining.

This is a pretty restaurant situated on a rooftop in Lekki Phase 1.

It’s really artsy and picturesque. It has a unique blue and white aesthetic that gives off the vibe that you’re having lunch far out in Greece, more like a Visa-free visit to Greece here in Lagos.

It’s a spot you should visit if you’re keen on taking great photos for Instagram. The manager is lovely, and I remember her recommending the passion fruit lemonade which I enjoyed. It’s a must-visit.

This is a lovely beach situated at Museyo, Lagos, open to pre-booked visitors only. You make a reservation online for either a daytime visit or an overnight experience in the guest house.

It’s a private beach with a luxurious touch. It features a relaxing pool with outdoor games. There is something to keep you bubbly and in that summer vibe.

There is also a lot to snack on and drink from time to time while soaking up the sun and having a pleasurable experience.

This is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day of work.

It’s situated on Victoria Island, and you are welcomed by a beautiful outdoor seating area.

However, the indoor area is spacious and seemed like a spot you go with a bunch of friends and share good laughs.

I love that the menu is so diverse, ranging from West Africa to continental, which allows for various options.

When I visited, I had the “1504 on the sea” platter, which had snails, crabs, peppered prawns, potatoes and so much more with a chilled Chapman drink. It was really relaxing.

The customer service is top-notch. The ambience is great. I recommend.

This is another lovely spot on Victoria island. It’s an ideal spot for brunch. The food is really good. On my visit, I remember having the Smoke Wood Basmati Jollof Rice with Slow Cooked Beef, and it was everything and more.

I had to come back again for dinner with friends. It has this warm ambience to it that makes you want to stay for a long time.

It also has a lot of depth to it, as something is interesting that meets the eye at every corner. It’s a great spot.

I personally need to visit some of these places, and I’m sure after reading this you want to too! This week take a load off, hang out with friends or ask your crush on a date and have a swell time. If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that we really only “Live Once” #yolo
