Today we are spilling the beans on the go-to photo and video editing apps used by most of your favourite content creators and influencers. As an influencer myself, the number one question I get asked most often by my followers is: what apps do you use to create your video content? Influencers have cracked the photo and video editing code, whether it’s fixing bad lighting, creating a one-of-a-kind filter, or elevating videos with cool transitions. It’s no surprise that everyone wants to edit like an influencer. If you want to improve your social media presence with a more visually appealing feed and more engaging content, you should start using one of the not-so-secret tools in every influencer’s toolbox.

As you may already know, we have been spotlighting some of your favourite influencers and content creators, and based on their responses, we have put together a list of photo and video editing apps. Check out our influencer-approved list of apps we’ve rounded up:

Photo Editing

Snapseed

This is one app that was mentioned over and over again. Snapseed offers a quick and functional way of editing photos. The application has very advanced features, is simple to use and works well on any type of smartphone. You can do a lot with this app, and that’s why it’s become a staple for lots of influencers and content creators.

Lightroom

Are you wondering what app your favourite influencer used to edit their picture that made it look like it was edited by the gods? Are you in awe over what filter was used on a picture that makes every single feature stand out? Look no further, because the answer to your bewilderment is Lightroom. This app, which has nearly five stars and thousands of reviews, includes one-tap editing tools, cutting-edge camera modes, and interactive tutorials that teach you how to use more advanced features like curves and colour mixers. The most popular free feature in this app, however, is Presets, a one-touch photo editor that can make dramatic changes to any photo.

Canva

Canva is one of the best and most comprehensive photo editing apps out there. Canva not only allows image editing in a normal way, but is also great for creating banners, posters, pamphlets, and various other types of art. For those who end up posting a lot on social networks and need this type of content, this is a perfect app. Another great thing about Canva is that it can also be used for video editing. Whether it’s Instagram reels or Tiktok, you can use templates in Canva to create engaging video content.

Facetune

Facetune dubbed the “original selfie editor,” offers a lot of tools to help you touch up and enhance your photos. Within the app, you can whiten your teeth, remove blemishes, change your eye colour, remove stray hairs, and even apply blush and lipstick. With nearly five stars and thousands of reviews, it’s no surprise that this is one of the most popular selfie editing apps. One great thing about the app is that quite a number of these its features are free.

AirBrush

Do you want to get rid of an annoying pimple? Do you want your teeth to appear extra white? Then you should use AirBrush. AirBrush is a quick photo editor that can improve the appearance of any image. With features like blurring, filters, frames, a stretch tool, eye brightening, and more, you can achieve a professional airbrushed look. You can also use it to add light effects, shine to your hair, plump your lips, and smooth out any wrinkles.

Video Editing

Inshot

InShot offers so many features that we could write an entire blog post about it. Inshot is my number one go-to video editing app, and the best thing about this app is that it’s so easy to use yet offers so much. Some of its features include basic features such as trimming, cutting, and splitting, a variety of cool effects, text, music, voice over, sound effects, slow-motion and fast-motion controls, stickers, gifs, resizing, masking, etc.

iMovie

iMovie, which is designed for iOS users, may be the easiest Instagram video editing tool. It has a well-organized, user-friendly interface that allows you to create high-quality videos with numerous editing options. With the movie option, you can take control and edit on your own, or you can let iMovie edit for you with the trailer option.

Capcut

This app offers free, powerful video editing capabilities, an accessible, mobile-friendly interface, a varied library of stock sounds and animations, and supports direct exports to TikTok. This is another video editing app I, and a lot of other content creators, use to make those seamless looking transitions and super engaging video content.
