She is a seasoned promoter, having begun in UK as a club promoter and entertainment Editor of Pride Magazine before relocating to Lagos and establishing NMO Management- an artist & event management/PR company with a diverse client rosta (international & local) from music artists, actors, OAP’s – with artists such as Hakeem Kae Kazim (Hotel Rwanda/Pirates of Caribbean/24/Last Flight to Abuja), Madam Onyeka Onwenu (Musician/actress), Vimbai Mutinhiri (TV presenter).
The LoudNProud series started when she was based in the UK as a club promoter and entertainment editor for Pride Magazine and Aspire Magazine. LoudNProud was a marketing concept to promote to readers and a platform for artistes to attend. Artistes were mainly international including the likes of Alicia Keys, OutKast, Usher, Whitney Houston & Brian Mcknight. These events also saw the likes of VIP guests such as Basketball Legend Michael Jordan, Rio Ferdinand & Spice Girls to name a few. She also worked with Record labels: Sony BMG/ Motown to promote their artistes.
Moving back to Nigeria:
Ngozi Omambala moved to Lagos in 2007 after working in the music industry in London. According to her, the energy and openness of the Nigerian music scene drew her home after years in London.
Soon after landing in Nigeria, Ngozi was headhunted for the position of Nigeria marketing representative for MTV Base Africa – overseeing the first ever MTV MAMA Awards 2008 (Abuja, Nigeria).
Her finance background as a qualified Chartered accountant combined with her experience in Radio/TV and Entertainment haven worked as a Record Label General Manager & also at radio station KISS FM London – have so far made her skills relevant to a developing entertainment sector in a fast emerging African Market.
LoudNProud Live series:
She initially introduced the LoudNProud Live series in Nigeria in 2012 to give female musicians a platform, although the series has evolved to accommodate both male and female musicians.
Her intention was to address the lack of female artistes in the industry and also give them a platform for live performances. It developed as a female platform with a difference – live music (live bands only). The concept has expanded since with talented male and female artists, however, the female focus remains intact.
With the goal of elevating female artists to the platform, she started in 2012 with artists such as Tiwa Savage, Omawumi, Waje, Efya (Ghana), Eva Alordiah – all hard working and determined artistes who are now household names in the industry and are all receiving deserved recognitions.
Success stories of LoudNProud Live series
The LoudNProud Live series celebrated its two year anniversary in January 2014 and it saw the likes of Ice Prince Zamani and Sound Sultan headlining the event with powerful live band performances.
So far so good, the LoudNProud Live series and ‘One Nite Live & Unplugged’ have both become monthly affairs and a solace for live band entertainments that music lovers and artistes always look forward to. They have hosted and celebrated established and emerging acts from all genres of music in the industry including the likes of Patoranking, Vector, Mode 9, Jesse Jagz, Praiz, Skales, Naeto C, Dammy Krane, Waje, Nneka & a host of others.
