For just a secondary school cert holder, Awotungase Ademola Sodiq aka (Demmie Vee) speaks quite well and it is actually difficult believing he didn’t see the four walls of a university. Interestingly, not being able to further his education wasn’t his making as he is from a humble background yet that didn’t deter him from creating something positive for himself rather than wasting his youthful vibe and energy engaging in several vices. Demmie Vee as he is now called took upon his one and only ability – singing and turned it into a worthy career worth chasing with so much passion.

Energized and determined, Demmie Vee started his musical journey with ‘Folashade’, as his first recorded song and as fate would have it, he was lucky to have unfettered access to a studio prompting him to work more often and develop his sound engineering skills. From there he recorded some other couple of singles and performed at a few shows in and out of his hood. It was at one of these outings he met the CEO to Hope Never Die Records [HND RECORDS] who took notice of talent and subsequently signed him on his label.

Signed to HND Records with more resources and proper management, Demmie Vee isn’t resting on his oars as he had dropped three back-to-back singles with top notch videos accompanying them. On one of his single titled Awesome God, he featured the legendary 2Baba and for him that was an amazing experience for him, working with one of the few artistes he listened to and who shaped his type of sound.

A fashion savvy person, perhaps a young dude with simple swags, Demmie Vee’s fashion is quite commendable with his signature naturally-dreadlocked hair and bandana.

In defense of younger acts who tour European countries with just one song, Demmie Vee believes the music industry has evolved and if touring will make him more money and exposes him to the European audience, then it shouldn’t be difficult deciding when is it good or bad.

With the great acceptance of his released singles, Demmie Vee is poised to even working harder to produce quality music with a message embedded in each of his music. Mentioning his three top favorite Nigerian artistes as 2Baba, 9ice and Asa, Demmie Vee plans to feature all three artistes on his song someday. He is presently working with 9ice which makes it 2/3 and that definitely is a pass for a young successor.
