Natural Remedies For Burns In Times Of Emergencies

People working in oil plants, processing sites have a higher risk of accidents resulting to burns. Everyone has to be in the lookout for an open fire anytime. It may occur in the kitchen while cooking. A
more serious incident due to carelessness or an unfortunate mishap with gas cylinders would result in severe burns.

Knowledge of burns and their treatment should be a standard skill for everyone’s knowledge when professional medical assistance is not forthcoming. It is important to know that our usual medical help will not be available and in emergency situations, we would have to make use of natural products and plants to save a bad day for burn victims.

Although for mild and unserious burns, it could become limited and useless for serious cases especially third degree burns. It is advisable to allow water run on these burns for 10-15 minutes before applying the natural supplements. It is of note that the water should not be cold or frozen so as to avoid pain and pressure on the skin.

The first remedy is Vaseline or Petroleum jelly. After cooling with the water, the next step is to spread sufficient amount of Vaseline or petroleum jelly over the surface of affected areas. The burnt area should be allowed fresh air to dry the skin.

The second remedy is Palm Oil. Palm oil is known to reduce pain and reduce fluids that emanate from injuries and burns. A cessation of the fluids will heal the burnt area rapidly.

The third remedy is Aloe Vera. Studies have shown that Aloe Vera helps new skin cells form and speeds healing. This is an excellent option for less-severe burns. Cut off an aloe plant, scoop the gel and rub on the burnt area. Ensure to reapply 4-5 times daily even without the bandage(s). Simplicity and relief are the keys to using Aloe Vera on burnt areas.

Yet a home remedy is the baking soda bath. Add 1/4 cup baking soda to a warm bath and soak for at least 15 minutes or longer if needed until the water cools off.
